We know the importance of colors and the role they play in the final result that a layout can offer. We've seen it in many different designs and we've verified it when we remodel our spaces. Colors are a powerful element: they are an agent of transformation, energy, temperature, inspiration, and light that can even influence our mood and enhance the most artistic aspects of our decoration. However, being such an important aesthetic and decorative factor, it can become a double-edged sword.

Some try to experiment to discover new color formulas for their spaces, new color schemes to improve the atmosphere and generate new sensations, but many times these attempts end in regrettable and unsatisfactory results. If you've been using the same colors in your interior decoration for too long and feel that it's time to experiment with new nuances or if you're simply one of those types of people who constantly change the color scheme of their environment, you must always take into account the following list of recommendations.

Change Your Color Scheme Without Dying Trying:

  • Colors and temperature: a close relationship. This is no secret to anyone, nor should it be a secret to you: colors have thermal properties that directly influence the temperature of a place or object. Never lose sight of this factor, as it could become a drastic decision, especially if you live in a place in the world with extreme climates. Cold colors (blue, violet, green) are recommended for regions of the planet or times of the year in which it's excessively hot, to add a bit of freshness, while warm colors (red, yellow, orange) can be very convenient in cold climates, to achieve balanced sensations and attract more natural light.

  • Choose the nuances that best favor your good energy. Colors are such a powerful weapon that they can transmit all kinds of sensations directly or even subliminally. The great plastic artists know it well. This automatically makes them a very powerful resource for daily life. If you're one of the people who find it hard to feel motivated, avoid gray or neutral tones and surround yourself with colors that transmit enthusiasm, vitality, and energy, such as red, orange, yellow, purple. If you're one of the people who are normally very energetic in their natural state, the most peaceful tones such as green, blue, light blue, and white can help you achieve a perfectly balanced stimulus in your daily life.

  • Dress each room according to its personality. Not all the spaces in the house have to look the same in terms of color story and predominant nuances. The children's room doesn't have to inspire the same atmosphere as the living room or kitchen, especially if a style like the Mid-Century Modern predominates in the living room, with masterful furniture pieces and the children's room is designed for fun and learning. Find the perfect shade for each area.

  • Explore your most artistic side. Tired of flat and uniform colors? Your walls don't always have to look the same. If you want to give them more personality and impact, adding art pieces is always the safest and most direct bet, but other alternatives are usually less considered, such as decorative acrylics. If you have skills for the plastic arts, you can even dare to express all your creativity making your own murals; it's a brand that nothing can match.

These are just a few basic recommendations for putting together your color scheme. Remember that the key to set up any layout is balance and good taste. Make sure that your color story is not unbalanced and that each area looks exactly as you intended. Let's do it!
