After some years evaluating hundreds of different proposals in the world of space decoration, my experience has shown me that people, in their purpose of being original and achieving results with their very own personal seal, distinguished from the rest by some memorable detail, some element capable of making a significant and important difference for the final result, many times they leave aside, forget, or belittle some valuable details because they are considered simple additions or details without importance. This is something that happens especially frequently when it comes to furniture since users are not always very clear about what they want to add and what not to their spaces.

The central table is one of those pieces that's usually on this list, although it seems that it's an obviously necessary piece. The truth is that it's an element that is often underestimated and forgotten until the set up seems complete but with something apparently missing. As with other decoration components such as curtains or rugs, when it comes to coffee tables, there's an almost indefinite range of options from which you can choose to complement both the aesthetics and functionality of the place. These options are very diverse in terms of sizes, colors, shapes, styles, materials, and a long etcetera. Therefore, certain considerations must be taken into account before making the final decision to choose the most convenient model and consistent with the rest of the environment.

A suitable coffee table model must offer the correct size to reach snacks and drinks since this is its main function and what can significantly improve the place's functionality. Besides, its materials must be its main aesthetic strength and be resistant enough so that the table can support a large number of objects and decorations without this representing any risk. A fragile and delicate center table isn't a good long-term investment, especially if it's to be placed in a heavy-duty area of the house.

If you are one of those people who have underestimated the importance of having a coffee table in the living room but just realized that it really is a very necessary element, some recommendations wouldn't hurt you to be able to make a successful investment and choose the more convenient coffee table. The first important feature, for example, is size. Any piece of furniture should have the appropriate proportions and dimensions so that it fits well in your area without hindering its use, but especially a coffee table since it's usually placed in the center of everything. Choose a model that's compatible with the dimensions of your room that allows you to move freely and smoothly, preferably at least 18 inches from the sofa so you can stretch your legs comfortably.

Another important aspect to consider is the shape of the table. There are oval, rectangular, square, cubic, round coffee tables, made with a single material or with several, and they're models that although they may belong to the same style, are radically different. For example, a Noguchi table, with its tempered glass top and hand-carved wooden base, is very different from a Coronado coffee table, but they both belong to the same style. Also, you should look at the color scheme of your space and what are the main tones of the coffee table model that you plan to add to preserve visual coherence.

If your compartment has room for one more piece, don't let it run out of a coffee table. Choose the most convenient table design to improve its functionality and aesthetics.
