The choice of the type of floor that you're going to have in your house or at least in the most important spaces of it is a highly interesting subject, considering all that the market can offer and the advantages that some types of floors show compared to others. Many times, when you buy a house, you can find the surprise of an extraordinarily beautiful and well-kept apartment, but other times you can come to feel that a renovation is needed in your space that gives a new look and a new air to the place. Sometimes, radically. For these cases, a good choice will always be to pick a wooden floor.

The floor of a room is like the canvas on which you are going to create your work of art, and therefore, it must lay the aesthetic foundations of your layout. If it's a floor of high beauty, this means that you already have an added value of great importance that you must learn to take advantage of in the best way. Wood is a very appreciated material by designers, decorators, and artists for its amazing properties. It's capable of providing warmth, elegance, and class. Wood can look very well in any area and it's so versatile that there are constructions entirely made of that material. Entering an office, living room, bedroom or some common area of a public access building and finding a beautiful wooden floor, automatically suggests the idea of good taste and delicacy, especially if the furniture present is also of recognized provenance, such as, for example, emblematic pieces of the Mid-Century Modern style by famous designers.

However, when we talk about wooden floors, we enter a very wide world in which there are several options in this section, which can vary greatly depending on the type of wood to be used, the design it will have, the finish to be used, textures, formats, colors, etc. Despite being a resource that has remained for many years in the liking of ordinary users and professional designers, some people view this option with suspicion, as they think that a wooden floor may require very expensive, complex, or complicated maintenance. In reality, the durability and aesthetic conservation of a wooden floor depend on several factors, the most important being the quality of the type of wood that will be used and the type of activities that will be carried out there. Like everything, it's an option with certain advantages and disadvantages that you should bear in mind before making the decision.

Among the main advantages of having a wooden floor is the natural appearance that it's capable of providing to your environment. In this aspect, nothing can be compared to it, especially because, in fact, wood is a resource extracted directly from nature and is a sample of its color, greatness, and beauty. Besides, wood is an insulating material, since it doesn't absorb environmental temperatures, like metal, ceramic, or concrete does. Additionally, wood floors, with proper care, can last for many years and still look great, especially if they have protective finishes and the floor has been installed in a proper format and design, made by professionals.

The disadvantages of hardwood floors are relative. For example, regardless of the quality of the wood, certain factors can directly affect such a floor: direct and prolonged exposure to water, sun, humidity, damage caused by intensive activity, such as scratches and friction, as well as discolorations or loss of shine that can occur over the years or contact with inappropriate chemical products. Also, remember that there are very important differences between dark wood flooring and light wood flooring, for example. From now on, now that you know the profile of the floors of this style, you can dare to live the experience of having an attractive and highly aesthetic wooden floor in your house.
